Blessing Mix
*Each ingredient in this snack mix symbolizes something associated
with Thanksgiving.
| 2c. Bugles brand corn snacks -
shaped as a cornucopia, a horn of plenty. |
| 2c. pretzels - represent arms folded
in thanks and prayer. |
| 1c. candy corn - during the first
winter, the pilgrims were each allotted only 5 kernels of corn per
day because food was so scarce. |
| 1c. dried or candy fruits -
Thanksgiving is the celebration of the harvest. |
| 1c. peanuts or sunflower seeds -
seeds represent the potential of a bounteous harvest for the next
season if they are planted and well tended. |
In a large bowl mix all ingredients together. Other ingredients such as
dry cereals, candies, or marshmallows can also be added. Make this mix as
a family and eat while discussing each ingredient and how it relates to
Thanksgiving.

If I am thankful for one thing,
I know that this is true;
I'm thankful God has blessed me,
With such a friend as you.
He has given to my life,
Blessings I cannot explain;
For I am least deserving,
And yet His love remains.
Still He saw fit to send you,
When He knew I needed a friend;
He set our paths so they would cross,
On a journey with no end.
So, I am thankful in this life,
For blessings tried and true.
But most of all I am thankful,
That God sent a friend like you.
