Piece Quilt Blocks

USING YOUR HOOP!

Did you know you can make REAL, ACTUAL quilt blocks with your hoop????  With my technique you'll end up with 3, 4 or 6" finished blocks.  No experience needed.  Detailed, pictorial instructions are included.

Holiday Cookies in a Jar
(for gift-giving)

Layer the following in a 1 Quart Mason jar:

3 cups cake flour 1/2 cup granulated sugar 3/4 teaspoon salt 1 1/3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup packed light brown sugar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Place the following in a small gift bag and attach to the top rim of jar with a nice Christmas ribbon:

20 red candy melts
20 green candy melts

Attach the following directions to the jar:

Place contents of jar into a large bowl, breaking up any lumps. Combine 3/4 cup melted, cooled butter, 2 eggs, and 1 tablespoon vanilla extract; stir into flour mixture until just combined. Drop dough by scant tablespoons full, 2" apart, onto an ungreased cookie sheet.  Bake at 325-350F for 11 - 12 minutes or until lightly golden. Cool on rack one minute.  Remove from pan; cool completely on rack.

Place each color of candy melts into a separate 1-quart plastic storage bag; microwave on medium until melted, about 50 seconds. Snip corner of each bag; drizzle over cookies.

Makes approximately 28 cookies.
