INCREDIBLY INDULGENT MILK CHOCOLATE SAUCE
23 - 24 oz. milk chocolate chips |
3 TBSP. cocoa powder |
1 can evaporated milk |
1 tsp. vanilla |
1 can sweetened condensed milk |
1 tsp. almond extract |
1/3 bag powdered sugar |
pinch of salt |
Sift powdered sugar and cocoa together into a medium bowl. Melt
chocolate chips and both cans of milk on medium heat; slowly whisk in
the powdered sugar/cocoa mix. Cook until thick and boiling, stirring
constantly (about 15 minutes). Let it boil for 3 to 5 minutes more.
Remove from heat and add vanilla and almond extract; sprinkle salt over
the top, stir to blend and remove air bubbles. Pour into glass jars.
The lids may seal on the jars, but it doesn't mean that are sealed well
enough to store; therefore, this must be stored in the refrigerator.
Yield: 3 pint jars or 6 half-pint jars. These make GREAT holiday gifts
for friends and neighbors - just tie on a cute jar lid cover and attach
