Mushroom Soup and Rice
Tell Us About It
I know this has been around a long time. But
when I was 40 years old this is the first time I had ever tried rice. I
remember back in grade school standing in the lunch line, watching the
servers with an ice cream scoop. They would through a big scoop full of
this mashed and soggy white stuff that stuck together like glue onto each
plate. No one would ever eat it. When I was young I just could not
understand why anyone would even buy the stuff. Wanting to eat better at
this age in my life I tried this recipe. I love it ever since. I was told
the benefits from the rice out weigh the calories in the soup. I wish I
had tried this with my children when they were younger, but the grandkids
love it. I think this is a important recipe to start off enjoying rice.
Ingredients:
Use the same can to
measure.
One can
Cream of mushroom soup. |
One can of
water or broth |
One can of
rice. |
Directions
Boil the water and soup together. Add rice.
Cover 5 to 10 min. You can also use broth from cooking a roast. Leave the
roast in the pan. Measure broth. Add soup. Bring to a boil. Add rice.
Cover for 5 to 10 min. I usually double the amounts for this. Chicken also
works well.
Comments
Right now I am working on a fence rail. It
started out small but is becoming bigger and bigger.
