Piece Quilt Blocks

USING YOUR HOOP!

Did you know you can make REAL, ACTUAL quilt blocks with your hoop????  With my technique you'll end up with 3, 4 or 6" finished blocks.  No experience needed.  Detailed, pictorial instructions are included.

Onion Rings

1 egg ¼ c. milk 1 c. all-purpose flour
½ tsp. baking powder Vegetable oil or shortening, for frying 1 Extra-Large onion, sliced into rings ½-inch thick
Salt, to taste

Mix eggs and milk in a bowl. In separate bowl, mix together flour and baking powder. Heat shortening in a large pot until very hot. Dip the onion into the egg mixture and then into the dry mixture. Re-dip into the egg mixture and then back into the dry mixture. Put rings into the hot oil in small groups to keep the temperature hot. Cook the onion rings until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels. Salt to taste and eat right away.

Serves 4-6
